History Riverstock
History Bands

In June 2007, the Weekend Warriors Music Club SA and the Moorook District Club organised a three-day Moorook Blues Festival on the banks of the River Murray, this was followed by another successful Blues Festival in 2008.  At this event the idea of staging a Woodstock 1969 style concert was agreed upon.  The Moorook Riverfront Park, on the banks of the Murray River, with its tranquil setting, adjoining camping sites and houseboat moorings, is the ideal setting for such a festival.   Thus, in November 2008 RIVERSTOCK was born.  With each passing year RIVERSTOCK continues to grow and flourish, and is known as a ‘Major Riverland Event.’

RIVERSTOCK engages over twenty bands and ensembles over the three-day festival performing non-stop over two stages; early years there were tribute performance sets and mixed popular music sets, thus offering a distinctly varied and exciting entertainment program.

Attracting an eclectic audience the ensembles vary their tribute and original sets from slot to slot, with bands performing two sets of 45minutes.  All music genres are welcome, e.g. Rock, Indie, Pop, Blues, Country, Folk, Funk, Soul, Jazz, etc. Over the weekend headline acts are booked to perform such as Weekend Warriors mentor Swanee and local identity Kelly Menhennett.

Bands and ensembles are placed on the program in order of their entertainment appeal and play alternatively over the two stages non-stop.
